Eastham sits just past Orleans, on the narrow stretch of the Outer Cape between Cape Cod Bay and the Atlantic — only a couple of miles wide in places. It’s quieter, more natural, and home to some of the Cape’s most loved seasonal and year-round properties. We’ve worked in Eastham for decades, from cottages near First Encounter Beach to homes along the Nauset corridor.
What Eastham work looks like
Eastham has a different rhythm than the busier mid-Cape towns. Common project types:
- Cottage renovations — Eastham has more original 1940s-60s cottages than most Cape towns, and many are being kept and renovated rather than replaced
- Year-round conversions — taking seasonal homes and upgrading insulation, heating, and systems for full-time use
- Bayside and oceanside lots — both shorelines, with their own coastal considerations
- Smaller new builds — Eastham lots tend to be modest, leading to thoughtful smaller-footprint custom homes
- Property care — substantial second-home owner population, particularly along the bayside
What we do most in Eastham
- Whole-home renovations of original cottages
- Additions — typically modest, often pairing with whole-home insulation upgrades
- Kitchen and bathroom remodels
- Custom homes — usually right-sized for the lot, not maximizing footprint
- Property management — common for the bayside and oceanside seasonal owners

What Eastham homeowners say
“I can’t say enough about the quality of the work or how conscientious the builders were. We love this deck and it will outlast me! I’ll be calling CCH for any additional projects!”

Eastham-specific things to know
- Narrow geography — many lots in Eastham are within a half-mile of one shoreline or the other. Salt air and wind are even more aggressive than mid-Cape; siding, fasteners, and trim choices matter.
- Cape Cod National Seashore boundary — properties near or adjacent to the National Seashore have additional review and restrictions on new construction.
- Conservation Commission — very active. Coastal banks, wetlands, and floodplain reviews are routine.
- Septic — Eastham’s water-protection rules are strict; renovations and additions often trigger upgrades.
- Outer Cape logistics — we plan deliveries, dumpsters, and trade scheduling around the additional drive time.
