Falmouth is one of the largest towns on Cape Cod by area, spanning the entire south and west tip of the Upper Cape. From Woods Hole on the southwest corner to North Falmouth on Buzzards Bay, the town covers eight distinct villages and roughly forty miles of shoreline. It’s a substantial drive from our Dennis shop — but for the right project, the drive is worth it, and we’ve maintained a presence in Falmouth for decades.

Falmouth has its own building culture
A few things that make Falmouth different from the mid-Cape towns where we’re based:
- Eight villages, three different shorelines — Buzzards Bay on the north and west, Vineyard Sound on the south. Each shoreline behaves differently in wind, salt, and storm exposure.
- Higher density on the south shore — Falmouth Heights, Maravista, East Falmouth all have tighter neighborhoods than mid-Cape towns.
- Working harbors — Woods Hole, Falmouth Inner Harbor, Quissett — homes near the harbors have their own aesthetic and zoning context.
- More substantial year-round population — Falmouth has the largest year-round population of any Cape town, which changes the construction culture (less seasonal-cottage work, more year-round renovation and new build).
What we do most in Falmouth
- Custom homes — particularly on cleared lots in North Falmouth and Sippewissett
- Whole-home renovations
- Additions — primary suites, second-story add-ons, screened porches
- Kitchen and bathroom remodels
- Property management — common in the Woods Hole and Sippewissett seasonal-home corridors

What Falmouth homeowners say
“Custom Crafted Homes was excellent to work with. They were very open and honest with pricing and the quality was outstanding. We will definitely go back!”

Falmouth-specific things to know
- Multiple historic districts — including Sippewissett and parts of Falmouth Village. Exterior review for designated properties.
- Conservation Commission — Falmouth’s coastal extent means wetlands, coastal bank, and floodplain review are routine.
- North Falmouth bluffs — properties along Buzzards Bay’s high banks have specific erosion and setback considerations.
- Sippewissett and Quissett — older neighborhoods with mature trees and traditional aesthetics; renovations here require sensitivity to the existing character.
- Working harbor proximity — properties near Woods Hole’s working harbor have their own zoning and aesthetic context that’s worth getting right.

Towns we also serve from Falmouth
Falmouth sits at the southwest corner of the Cape, roughly an hour’s drive from our mid-Cape neighbors. Barnstable sits to the east on the way back toward our shop, and we make the trip out from Dennis regularly. We also serve Sandwich, Mashpee, and Bourne when project scope warrants. See the full list of 15 Cape Cod towns we serve.
