The kitchen is where the house actually happens. The morning coffee, the bigger conversations, the holidays. When we remodel a kitchen, we treat it like we’re building one room at the craft level of a whole-house custom build — because that’s what it deserves.
Custom Crafted Homes has been remodeling kitchens across Cape Cod for over 50 years. From a single-room refresh to a full gut-and-rebuild, we handle the cabinetry, the stone, the tile, the lighting, the electrical, and the plumbing — all under one roof, by the same crew that builds our custom homes.
What we do
- Full gut renovations — down to studs, full reconfiguration, often combined with adjacent space
- Layout reworks — moving walls, opening to dining or living, repositioning windows for light
- Cabinetry — custom local builds, semi-custom, and high-end stock lines (we partner with cabinet shops we trust)
- Stone and tile — quartz, quartzite, marble, soapstone, and backsplash work
- Lighting design — task, ambient, and accent lighting that fits how you actually cook
- Appliance integration — paneled refrigerators, hidden dishwashers, built-in coffee, induction conversions
- Plumbing and electrical — bringing older Cape homes up to current code without disrupting the architecture
What sets our kitchens apart
We build kitchens that feel right to use, not just look right in photos. The 30-second decisions — where the trash drawer goes, how the prep zone flows to the cooktop, whether the microwave should disappear — are decisions we’ve made hundreds of times. We bring that experience to your kitchen so the layout works the day you move back in.
We also build for the long haul. A kitchen remodel in a Cape Cod home has to handle salt air, summer humidity, winter heating cycles, and the kind of use a working family puts on it. We pick finishes and materials that hold up — and we’ll talk you out of choices that won’t. You can see our kitchen portfolio for examples of how those choices play out.
Typical project scope
Most of our kitchen remodels fall in one of three tiers:
- Refresh (6–8 weeks) — cabinetry, counters, backsplash, lighting; no structural changes
- Full reconfigure (8–12 weeks) — wall moves, structural updates, full electrical/plumbing
- Kitchen + adjacent (12–16 weeks) — typically pairs with a small home addition, mudroom, or open-concept conversion
Working in the Cape’s older homes
A lot of Cape Cod kitchens are in homes that are 80, 100, even 200 years old. We’ve built kitchens into post-and-beam frames, hand-hewn timbers, and the kind of original construction where every wall is its own surprise. We don’t rush these. We figure out what’s structural, what’s surface, and what’s worth saving — then we plan around it. We work this way in Dennis, Yarmouth, Chatham, and across the Cape.

Process
- Site visit + scope — what you want, what’s possible, rough budget
- Design — layout, cabinetry, finishes, lighting plan
- Final budget + schedule — fully transparent, no padding
- Build — your kitchen demolished and rebuilt, with weekly progress
- Walk-through + punch list — we don’t leave until you’d recommend us to your sister
Many kitchen projects pair naturally with a bathroom remodel in the same trip, since the trades and the disruption overlap.
