Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL)

The CSL authorizes the holder to supervise construction work on one- and two-family dwellings (and certain other structures) in Massachusetts. By law, every project requiring a building permit must have a licensed Construction Supervisor responsible for the work.

The HIC registration is required for contractors performing residential renovation, repair, replacement, remodeling, or addition work in Massachusetts. The state runs a Guaranty Fund that protects homeowners working with registered HICs.

For projects above a certain value threshold, we carry project-specific Builder’s Risk coverage to protect work-in-progress against fire, theft, vandalism, and weather damage. Coverage details for your specific project will be disclosed in your construction agreement.
Certificates of Insurance
We provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming you as additional insured on any signed construction project at no cost. Just ask — we send the COI before the start date.
If you’d like to verify our insurance independently before signing, you can request a COI even during the estimate phase. We’ll provide one within one business day.

Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor Guaranty Fund
For projects covered by a written Home Improvement Contractor agreement, you may be protected by the Massachusetts HIC Guaranty Fund. The Fund can compensate homeowners up to $10,000 for unsatisfied judgments against registered HICs.

Your three-day right of cancellation
Under Massachusetts law (M.G.L. c. 142A and federal law), you have the right to cancel any door-to-door home improvement contract within three business days of signing. This right is detailed in every contract we ask you to sign, alongside a written notice of cancellation form.
